Dixons Department Store is a family owned business. The late Joseph Dixon opened their first store in 1882 at 23 Queen Street in Whitehaven. Today the store occupies much bigger premises at 10 Lowther Street. Dixons also owns Dunmail Park Shopping Centre in Workington.
